The #SpellSaab14 Experience

Rarely do I get excited about celebrities, especially since I'm already working in a TV network. I would love to have pictures taken with them, but most of the time, being able to see them is enough. Call me introvert, yes, but honestly, they're people, too. Just way more beautiful, and stylish, and famous than us mere mortals.

However, there are a few artists that I admire. I couldn't exactly point out specific reasons why I like them, but I guess it's how they present their selves, their uniqueness, maybe even their wit, and style. One of them is Saab Magalona.

She may not be as popular as other celebrities, but you could easily identify her because of her name. But more to being Francis M's daughter, I've come to love Saab as a writer/blogger than an artista.

I honestly can't remember the first time I read her blog, but I guess I found her on tumblr. It was my safe haven back then. Anyway, I have just discovered the power of blogging, and Saab has become one of my inspirations. She's witty, and funny, and she's always unapologetically herself. It was really refreshing to find someone with her status being so down-to-earth, and relatable.

Aside from that, she also became my #hairgoals, and her style made me want to spend all my month's salary to shop clothes. Haha. Kidding aside, I easily became her fan.

It was a rainy Saturday afternoon, but it didn’t stopped me, my sister, and the whole #SpellSaab14 gang to have a wonderful time. Saab was really beautiful, as if we didn’t already knew that, but what surprised me was how nice and kind she was! She's so adorable, and it was cute when she was tearing a little bit when we were introducing ourselves and telling stories how we got to be fans of hers and the blog.

We had so much fun playing games, and might I add that it was very interactive. It’s nice to have everyone participate and no one being killjoy. Got to meet new friends, too. Hi, seatmates/group gang! 😊

Saab and Jim also played a game of how-well-do-they-know-each-other, hence, The Saab and Jim Quiz! 😍

Aside from that, we also learned about Grrl Gang Manila, a collective fighting for women’s rights. Ms. Earnest Zabala gave a short talk about being free to do what we want, especially us women, who still face discrimination inspite modernization, as well as creating a judgement-free world. I agree with their advocacy because I want stereotypes be broken down as well. 😊

Of course, the program wouldn't be fun without our lovable host, Candy Gamos! She's spunky and cool, and I love her now as much as I love Saab. You can catch her on Jam 88.3's Sugar Rush, and Cheats alongside Saab in vocals.

And we didn't went home empty-handed! Congratulations to everyone who won! 🎉

I wasn’t lucky enough to win in any game, but my sister did, so we got to take home this awesome loot bag! Well, these wasn't all mine, but Camille shared and gave me that Cadbury Oreo chocolate (which was divine!), and Berocca. 😍 Forgot to include the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser (squeals!).

We also got books as freebies! ❤️ Gone Girl and A Wrinkle in Time were the books we got from the Book Swap, and Blood of Wonderland was from the loot bag.

Now if all those didn't seem fun, then I don't know what is. Haha. Here's a short video I made of my #SpellSaab14 experience. Hope you enjoy it, too! ❤️
