Cheap But Good: QUICKFX No-Shine Mattifier Review

A self-proclaimed beauty junkie that I am will never get settled for one brand. There's always this thirst to try out the freshest makeup in the market, know the latest trends, and a new shade of lipstick every now and then. As I continue to learn the 'this and thats' of the beauty world, I have realized one important lesson, and that is to prep and prime your skin before applying any kind of makeup.
Years of reading blogs has taught me to take care of my skin to help makeup adhere better, or not use makeup at all and flaunt it the au naturel way. I, however, haven't achieved that skin I've always wanted, that's why I'm still on the hunt for my holy grails.
I've read a lot of reviews and tips about how primers help prolong makeup longevity and control oil and shine, and for an oily-skinned gal, I was immediately sold to trying it out. That's when I found out about the QuickFX No-Shine Mattifier.
QuickFX is not a newbie in the market. It has been around for quite some time now, and is famous among beauty bloggers because of its affordability and how true it is to its claims. I was surprised to have found out that it is a Korean brand. It made my heart flutter more because if you haven't tried out Korean skincare, then you are living under a rock, because they rock.

The QuickFX No-Shine Mattifier is a lightweight, gel cream- type moisturizer that acts as a primer. It has a silicone feel to it, has no scent, and applies smoothly onto skin. What I love about it is it has no sticky feel, dries quickly, and leaves no white cast. It also has some added skincare-loving ingredients like Salicyclic Acid, Chamomile, and Tea Tree extract.

The packaging and price is a plus for me, too. I like that it comes in this handy sachet that's gonna fit in our vanity kits, and the twist cap to prevent spillage. It's also very affordable at Php 99 for 10g. You only need a pea-sized amount to cover the whole face and neck area, so one pack will last for a month or two, depending on usage. Expiration date can also be easily seen at the back.

Oil control is quite impressive because I'm really oily, and I usually get shiny on the T-zone area after an hour or so of applying makeup. The first time I used it, I immediately felt the smoothness in my skin, and I've noticed that oil was visible only after the four-hour mark, but can still pass as dewy, which I liked. It also didn't clogged my pores, although some fine lines are still quite visible. That's fine with me because what I'm really after is making my base last long and avoid melting.
The best part about the No-Shine Mattifier is it didn't break me out! This scored big points in my checklist because I easily get zits and pimples from some products, and it was a giant relief that this wasn't one them. Talk about total bang for the buck.
I'm really glad to have found a primer that worked for me. It isn't my HG, but while I'm still out looking for my perfect primer, this one will do. I would definitely recommend this to girls looking for a good and budget-friendly primer. I am actually planning to repurchase when mine runs out, but I would get their new 30g tubes for Php 279.
