Faith is More

I have a confession to make.

I am not a church person.

And I have my reasons for not being so.

As I grew up, I realized that the world is full of people with different beliefs and ideas than mine. Through the years I have learned how to deal with them and understand them more. In those meetings I have met people who were very much into their religion, and I respect them for that. I got to know them more as I spent time with them. As more time passed, I felt confused if whether they really value what they preach because I have seen their actions and heard the words they've said and it was the total opposite of what they tell people who they are.

As Garrison Keillor said, 'Anyone who thinks sitting in church can make you a Christian must also think that sitting in a garage can make you a car.' I know it sounds judgmental, but at least I know I am not a hypocrite. I admit I haven't read the bible from cover to cover, but I know that doesn't make me a bad person. Being a Christian is not about how many times you go to church, but how strongly you believe in God. I think that people who pray truthfully even in the most unlikely places are far more better persons than those who pretend to be taking in His words, inside His house.

Despite the inkling, it doesn't mean I don't ever go to church anymore. I still do. Though I don't go on a regular basis, like every Saturday or Sunday. I don't care if people think I'm a non- believer. I know how much faith I have in Him. That's all that matters.
